Greg Hammond
Executive Vice President of Strategic Development and General Counsel
Greg Hammond joined TriNet in 1997 and currently serves as executive vice president of strategic development and general counsel. In this role, Hammond serves as TriNet’s chief legal officer, as well as its principal executive in charge of risk control, insurance acquisition, long-range strategic partnerships and development planning.
Prior to joining TriNet, Hammond began working in outsourced human resources law in 1981 with litigation involving shared HR services liabilities among multiple entities. He represented more than 300 outsourced HR firms, including staffing, PEO, and specialty service providers. In addition, Hammond served as general counsel to the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations [NAPEO] from 1987-1991, and is author of several articles and treatises on outsourced HR legal issues.
Hammond also has experience as a consultant to several merger transactions, has taught at the University of Akron Law School, and worked with multiple insurance companies and governmental agencies on outsourced human resources matters. Hammond has also served as an expert witness in several large-scale litigation matters involving insurance, and is an experienced litigator with 20 years of courtroom work.
Previous to his tenure in outsourced human resources law, Hammond was a founding shareholder of his own law and consulting firms and of-counsel to Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP. Hammond also served as a partner with Millisor & Nobil, and as an associate with Seyfarth Shaw.
Hammond received his bachelor’s degree from Mercer University and his juris doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School.
