Jim Smith
Vice President of Operations
Jim Smith joined TriNet in 2001 and currently serves as vice president of operations. In this role, Smith oversees all of TriNet’s operational functions including operations and benefits support, payroll, and customer service. In addition to those responsibilities, Smith also oversees the Solution Center, a toll-free resource staffed by subject matter experts equipped to handle HR inquiries from TriNet customer employees.
Prior to joining TriNet, Smith was with Lucent Technologies for 32 years, overseeing the payroll operations for 130,000 employees and successfully devising a number of scalable solutions for dealing with complex business transactions. Smith’s specialties include line operations, payroll accounting, and check print and distribution.
Smith received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo, and a mini MBA in finance from the AT&T School of Business/Wharton Business School.
