TriNet Winter 2010 Release

What’s New in TriNet’s Spring 2010 Release

Spring 2010 Release: Connecting With Small Business to Drive Innovation

Successful small businesses constantly invent new ways to maximize their limited resources and adapt to changing market conditions. Their innovative processes, practices and technologies create new business standards—as well as new requirements for the companies they partner with. However, because small businesses are so numerous and diverse, it can be difficult to discern a common voice that conveys their rapidly changing needs—or how they are performing as a unique segment of the economy.

The TriNet Spring 2010 Release delivers a powerful new channel for small businesses to collaborate and develop new services to serve their quickly evolving needs. Our new services also include a unique indicator of small business growth, as well as the public availability of successful workshops that had only been previously offered to TriNet clients.

TriNet’s Spring 2010 Release includes:

  • Idea Exchange:  A forum for small businesses to submit and develop ideas for new services, as well as enhancements to TriNet’s technology and processes.
  • Human Capital IndexA new index that provides business leaders with a timely and accurate indicator of monthly changes and trends in small business employment.
  • TriNet WorkshopsInteractive workshops that increase employee morale by investing in the development of both current and departing employees.

Idea Exchange

TriNet’s Idea Exchange empowers our clients and their employees to direct the development of TriNet services and technology. This new online forum empowers thousands of TriNet clients to collaborate with TriNet to develop new products at the leading edge of human capital management. Employees can easily access Idea Exchange through HR Passport to submit ideas for new services or improvements, comment on and rate other contributions, gauge the popularity of suggestions and track the development of ideas into TriNet’s quarterly product releases.

Human Capital Index

TriNet’s Human Capital Index (HCI) is a monthly report providing direct visibility into the employment practices of thousands of small businesses driving innovation and growth in the economy. Straightforward and easy-to-understand, HCI forgoes opinion or subjective speculation, as well as complex formulas, using anonymously aggregated data from approximately 3,000 companies with 20 to 100 employees at the end of each month. With a spotlight on small business, HCI’s timely, relevant insights are focused on the growth of small business exclusively—separate from large enterprise. With HCI, small business leaders can recognize when other companies are increasing hiring activity or reducing workforces, as well as spot trends over prior months. And TriNet clients can directly compare growth of their organization against the HCI—and many other metrics—through TriNet’s Benchmarking Dashboard.

TriNet Workshops

Employee development is a crucial part of every company’s success. However, employers are not always able to find the right training resources at the right price—and with material that is suited to small businesses. In addition, much corporate training consists of recycled, staid programs that do not engage employees. However, investing in employee training sends your employees a clear signal that their skills and contributions are valued by your organization. Even in tenuous situations such as layoffs, a small investment to help ease employee transition can mean a positive turn in morale for your remaining employees.

Beginning in April 2010, TriNet Embracing Leadership and Career Transitions workshops will be hosted regularly at regional TriNet training centers. Previously available only to TriNet clients, these hands-on programs are proven to deliver clear value to small businesses across many industries. Each workshop is immediately applicable to the real world, and the limited workshop size ensures personal interaction between participants and moderator.

Embracing Leadership is a two-day workshop designed to improve the daily leadership skills of your most promising employees. Career Transitions is a one-day, instructor-led training session that helps employees move on to the next stage in their professional lives, through practical guidance on job search and other related topics.
