Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Debit Card

FSAs are a powerful addition to the TriNet benefits package because of the tax savings they offer your employees for routine healthcare expenses.  But using FSAs can be difficult for employees—they must submit paper receipts and keep track of reimbursements.  In addition, they may be uncertain as to whether items are qualified at the time of purchase.  As a result, this great benefits program—one of the last remaining tax shelters available to the average American—often goes underutilized.

Introducing the TriNet FSA Debit Card
The TriNet FSA Debit Card enables all employees with a healthcare FSA to pay for medical expenses using a dedicated debit card that is swiped at the point of purchase. If approved, required funds are automatically deducted from the employee’s account and the transaction is completed.  This simple process eliminates the need to submit paper receipts and track reimbursements.

The Debit Card allows employees to:

  • Use funds in their FSAs as easily as their own bank accounts
  • Take advantage of FSAs at both medical providers and non-healthcare merchants such as grocery stores and pharmacies
  • Learn whether an item is approved or declined at the point of purchase
  • Leverage a vast network of stores, pharmacies, and healthcare providers who accept the FSA Debit Card
  • Enjoy full support of the program from TriNet: when a card is lost or has problems, TriNet will handle the responsibility of replacing the card

Paperless I-9

The Form I-9, used by employers to verify an employee’s identity and eligibility to work in the United States, is a cumbersome process prone to delays. Incorrectly completed forms prevent new hires from starting on time, and hiring managers are often not sure what forms of identification are required for different applicant types such as U.S citizens or resident aliens. In addition, paper forms are easily misplaced or destroyed.

Introducing the Paperless I-9
TriNet is pleased to introduce a paperless I-9 form that replaces old I-9 forms with a streamlined, online system. Now hiring managers will be able to follow a few simple steps to verify identification documents and enter them online.  This allows appropriate I-9 forms to be generated and submitted, as well as stored and secured for future reference.

Forms are checked online for completeness, reducing the risk of errors and omissions, and employees’ records are automatically updated to indicate that they are authorized to be included on the payroll.  This new system enables hiring managers at TriNet customer companies to:

  • Easily understand what forms of identification are required for employees , regardless of citizenship status
  • Accelerate the process of approving employment eligibility
  • Eliminate the risk of errors or omissions on the I-9 form
  • Maintain a complete electronic record of employment eligibility verification for compliance purposes
