Human Resource Outsourcing Leader, TriNet, Helps Companies Comply with Complexities of Annual Benefits Enrollment

Unique Self-Service Tools Enable Small to Mid-sized Businesses to Deliver Seamless, Comprehensive Online Experience to Employees, While Managing and Mitigating Employer Liability and Risk.

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (TBD) – TriNet Group Inc., a provider of outsourced human resource (HR) services for small and medium-sized businesses, today announced the successful completion of its annual online benefits enrollment. By enrolling for benefits via the Web, employees of TriNet customers obtained first-hand information about the breadth of their benefits offerings. TriNet customers themselves also gained by online benefits enrollment, which is on average 50% less expensive than paper-based benefits enrollment and significantly reduces data entry errors.

Martin Babinec, president and CEO of TriNet, said, "Paperless enrollment helps employees become cost-conscious consumers of their benefits. TriNet's interactive plan comparison chart, which makes selecting between up to 15 plans easy, our medical and FSA cost calculator tools, and our personalized profiling tool deliver a comprehensive Web experience."

TriNet's VP of strategic development and general counsel, Greg Hammond, added, "TriNet's annual online enrollment helps companies protect themselves and mitigate the risks involved in ensuring all qualified employees participate in this key event. Plus, TriNet's impressive selection of benefits packages means even the smallest companies can use their benefits offerings as an attractive retention tool as the job market becomes increasingly competitive again."

TriNet successfully enrolled over 8,000 employees using secure web portal; less than a dozen people opted to use paper-based enrollment form rather than TriNet's online tools. Employees who were happy with their current selections were able to simply remain in their plans without having to make an active enrollment. Because it was Web-based, the benefits enrollment process was available 24/7 for companies in every state, including those with multi-state workforces.

"Health plan choices are complex," adds Babinec, "and few organizations are staffed with experts ready to offer detailed comparisons and guide plan selections. TriNet's online benefits enrollment makes the content available in the context of the enrollment process, making it a satisfying experience for the employee and a good business decision for the employer."
