TriNet Executive Elected to Industry Association Board
Chief Legal Officer Greg Hammond to serve as NAPEO’s secretary-treasurer in 2012.
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (December 1, 2011) — The National Association of Professional Employer Organizations recently announced the election of Greg Hammond, TriNet’s chief legal officer, as secretary-treasurer of NAPEO’s 2012 board of directors. Hammond was installed at the association’s Annual Membership Meeting in September in Orlando, Fla., and will serve a one-year term.
“Our current economic reality demands additional support for small business, and NAPEO provides significant value to professional employer organizations like TriNet, who help small business create more robust jobs and fuel America’s economic engine,” said Hammond. “I’m looking forward to continuing my and TriNet's support of that endeavor.”
Hammond is a respected leader within NAPEO’s community, as he was an early trailblazer in creating legal certainty in state legislatures across the country. He has served the industry in many capacities since the 1980s when he was outside counsel to the association. Since then, he has been active in industry state government affairs initiatives through former chapters and current leadership councils. He chaired NAPEO’s State Government Affairs Committee in 2010, and has also been active in its federal government affairs initiative, Political Action Committee, Legal Advisory Council, Healthcare Task Force and CEO Search Task Force. Prior to his election as this year’s secretary-treasurer, Hammond was a current member of the board and executive committee. In May, Hammond received NAPEO’s Government Affairs Leadership Award, which recognizes a volunteer who has made a significant difference to the industry through proactive government affairs efforts.
“Greg’s efforts over the past few decades have gone above and beyond the call of duty,” said Joe Cole, NAPEO’s interim CEO. “We are grateful for the time he has invested to further the industry, including great efforts to build consensus and implement new and creative strategies.”
NAPEO’s board includes three other officers and 15 total members.
Hammond has been with TriNet, a provider of HR outsourcing solutions to startups and small businesses, for 14 years and has worked within the HR industry for three decades.
