Inc. 5000 Includes TriNet for Third Consecutive Year

Trusted small business provider moves up 500+ spots after growing 178 percent over last three years in annual list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (August 31, 2010) – TriNet, the country’s largest private provider of human resources outsourcing solutions to small businesses, was named to Inc. Magazine’s fourth annual list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the United States for the third consecutive year, appearing at No.1,601 in 2010 listing after growing 178 percent over the last three years, a jump of 584 spots over last year’s listing of No. 2,185.

“We’re thrilled to be included as one of today's innovative company builders,” said Burton M. Goldfield, TriNet’s president and CEO. “Our ranking in the Inc. 5000 is a direct result of the trust and confidence entrepreneurs have in TriNet as a trusted advisor to help them grow their small businesses.”

Despite the fact that most of this year’s measuring period took place during the current recessionary climate, aggregate revenue among the companies on the list actually increased to $321.6 billion, up more than 50 percent from last year. However, the effects of the recession are seen in the median three-year growth rate, which dropped to 96 percent, down from 126 percent last year. Additionally, this year’s Inc. 5000 employ a record 1.4 million people, up from 1 million from last year’s list.

TriNet was ranked 29th out of 100 Human Resources companies included in the Inc. 5000, a significant jump from No. 76 in last year’s industry carve out. When breaking out the list by geographic location, TriNet ranked No. 65 in the San Francisco Bay Area (out of 156 companies), up 15 slots from 2009. In addition, TriNet is one of 684 California-based companies included in the Inc. 5000, the most of any state.

This year’s rankings were determined by percentage revenue growth between 2006 and 2009. TriNet debuted as a member of the Inc. 500 Hall of Fame in 1999 after five consecutive listings (12th in 1995, 79th in 1996, 166th in 1997, 319th in 1998 and 381st in 1999). In 2007, Inc. grew its list to include 5,000 companies and included TriNet in its 2008 rankings, at No. 3,369, while last year’s ranking was No. 2,185 after growing 174.5 percent over a three–year period.
